So what is life coaching, which in recent years has claimed a place on the road to self-awareness and self-improvement. As new as it may seem, it is quite old. The truth is that mentors and teachers have always existed in various forms throughout human existence and history. The Greek philosophers were life coaches.
Coaching and ancient Greek philosophy share the same goal: helping people evolve, improve, and become the best versions of themselves. They aim to enable individuals to create their lives through the integrated and healed aspects of themselves, to gradually find the path to happiness and inner peace, and to become a calm force by putting themselves into action.
Once you become this calm force, you are a more conscious creator of your life, you know yourself, recognize your potential and stop sabotaging your dreams and goals.
Man already has within himself everything he needs to be happy, to be at peace and to experience evolution and progress. All these ingredients, the natural gifts are latent in most of us. The main reason is our beliefs about life and how things work. Our beliefs are accumulated in our subconscious.
In addition to our beliefs, our subconscious contains our traumas from past life experiences, our trapped emotions and truths that are not always in harmony with what we want to create.
Scientists have proven that the creation of our lives is 92% driven by our subconscious and only 8% by our conscious part... So think about how important it is to know yourself, to know what kind of beliefs exist in your subconscious mind and how you can change them, so you can create the life of your dreams by using the right tools and techniques for you.
The basic principle of the coaching philosophy is self-directed learning. The life coach through a series of questions, models and techniques that he/she uses, aims to lead the coachee, to see what is happening here and now in his/her life, to empower him/her to recognize his/her real desires, to elicit from the he/she the strategies and solutions that are appropriate for him/her and to motivate him/her to action.
And of course you can start self-improvement and self-awareness on your own, in the context of self-directed learning and lifelong learning. That's a possibility too. But think about it ... When you were learning to swim for the first time in your life, you had a life jacket or not. Did you just jump in the water in hopes of swimming, or did you finally have a life jacket and your parents encouraging and motivating you.
The life coach has been trained to be in that role of support, help and guidance for you. He/she has been trained to lead you more successfully to self-improvement, to getting to know yourself, and knowing how to create your life beyond your limiting perceptions, beyond your traumas, beyond how lucky or unlucky you are, because even this is a limited belief, based always on your own needs.
All people have exactly the same potential for success. The luck factor does not exist. What sabotages you, what stops you is yourself and all those limited programs that exist in your subconscious mind. When you get to know thyself, the path is open for creation, growth, and prosperity.
